Hackney Wick FC continued their red-hot form, notching a sixth consecutive victory with a 2-1 away win over Brimsdown FC. Despite missing around 10 first-team players, Hackney's U18s and reserves stepped up to secure the points.
Christian Munganga opened the scoring with his relentless form, netting after some excellent buildup play from Issa Sidibie. Leo Pola quickly doubled the lead, slotting home from close range to notch his 11th goal of the season.
Brimsdown came out with renewed energy after the break and managed to pull one back. Hackney had a chance to put the game to bed with a penalty, but Pola’s effort was off the mark. Despite the missed chance, Hackney held firm for the 2-1 win, keeping them two points clear at the top of the table, with Harlow Town close behind and a game in hand.
Hackney Wick now shifts focus to the London Cup, hoping their league rivals will drop points in the meantime.
